Independence Day always sneaks up on me like a firework finale. Loud, dazzling and slightly chaotic. It’s the one day we all pause, burger in hand, to reflect on freedom, family and why Uncle Larry insists on wearing an American flag tank top three sizes too small (Old Navy 2003, natch). But beneath the sparklers and potato salad lies something real: the quiet joy of long summer nights, the promise of a season where anything feels possible and the deep, slightly sunburned truth that freedom isn’t just about history, it’s about choosing joy, connection and maybe even finally cleaning out the garage (though probably not). So here’s to an epic summer ahead—one full of cannonballs, bad karaoke and moments that remind us that life, like fireworks, is best when shared and just a little bit ridiculous.
First, a quick rundown on what you may have missed on She Means Business this week!
We are currently posting 2-3 times per week with new content and then a weekend round up of our posts and other inspiration. Here’s what we talked about on our substack this week:
Comfort feels good, growth feels better
Your comfort zone is well…comfortable because it’s easy and predictable. There is low risk, low anxiety and not a lot of surprises. It’s okay to rest there, but not a place to set up permanent residence. When everything stays the same, so do you. From experience
Starting a business is an exciting journey, and having the right tools in your corner can make all the difference. Whether you're launching a new business or looking to expand your empire, there’s a ton of tools that can streamline your operations, boost productivity, and set the stage for long-term growth.
Glow up, but for your credit score
Your credit score is kind of like a high school reunion. People are definitely judging you, whether they admit it or not. It affects way more than just loan approvals. Want better terms on your mortgage? Thinking about funding your next big move? That little three-digit number is holding the keys.
Glow up, but for your credit
Building good business credit isn’t just about borrowing money, It’s about setting up a solid foundation for trust, opportunities, and growth. With a strong credit profile, you can land better deals with lenders, have more sway with vendors, and keep your personal and business finances separate (which is super important).
Inspiration from others this week:
I am also actively seeking out inspiration and new connections here on Substack and in other places. I am slowly finding the community I’m looking for, but if you have recommendations or if you are a small business creator, definitely connect!
Be safe out there—no holiday is worth trading fingers for fireworks. Slather on that sunscreen like your future self depends on it (because it does). Most importantly, enjoy the hell out of yourself! You've earned it, and summer's not waiting around.
